  Bolu Cement in Da Vinci Project  

Bolu Cement will participate at EU Leonardo Da Vinci Vocational Education Project that aims to raise qualified personnel with sustainable education for industrial automation technologies. Our 2 personnel, an electronic and a mechanical engineer will take 3 weeks of applied education abroad after completing a 60-70 hours theoretical automation education in the country. All the expenses of the project shall be met by EU funds; 80% shall be paid in cash and 20% shall be released at the end of the project when it is successfully finished.

ABOUT BOLU CEMENT

In 1967, as a result of an idea developed by the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of Bolu a decision was taken for setting up a cement factory in Bolu and studies started in this direction.    
On August 5, 1968 Bol-Bak Gıda ve Sanayii Ticaret A.Ş. (Bol-Bak Food and Industry Trade Inc.), Kamil Bilgihan, Nazım Adasal, Mustafa Çizmecioğlu, Istanbul Bank and the legal entity of Bolu Karaköy founded Bolu Çimento Sanayii A.Ş. with a 500,000 TL capital.

After the necessary alterations were made in the Main Agreement of the Company, a decision was taken to increase the capital to 40,000,000 TL a search for partners was started and after negotiations ran with The Turkish Cement Industries and the Armed Forces Pension Fund (OYAK), 25 & of the shares were transferred to OYAK and 16 % to Turkish Cement Industries (Çisan).   

The foundation of the factory was laid on September 26, 1969 after the establishment procedures were completed and the construction works started. The factory started test production at the end of the assembling Works in 1973 and officially inaugurated to production on June 1, 1974. 

The annual clinker production capacity of Bolu Cement is 1,5 million tons and the cement production capacity is 3 million tons:
The Main Facility: Apart from clinker production, the main facility in Bolu has an annual cement capacity of 2 million tons, The managerial activities and the main units of the Company are positioned in this centre.

Ankara Grinding and Packing Facility: The facility at Sarayköy that was initially set up as a packing unit in 1996 was transferred into a grinding and packing facility in 1998 and has an annual capacity of 1 million tons. The sales of the Company in the Ankara region are realised by this plant. 

Bolu Cement has realised a first in the sector: got "License for Usage of Wastes as Additional Fuel" document from The Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey. The Company was the first to receive the Labour Health and Safety Management System Conformity Document within the frame of the Project coordinated by ÇEİŞ and also reinforced its pioneering position with the R&D studies started in 2006.   

Bolu Cement made the first application in the Turkish cement industry for a patent on 27.03.2007 and upon receiving the positive report, the research patent application made was published in the bulletin dated October 21, 2007 and numbered 136 of the Turkish Patent Institute. After the pendant and research period the patent numbered TR 2007-01995 was received on December 22, 2008. The Rotating Kiln Integrated Waste Incineration System, which was completed after long struggles is the first machinery in the sector to have a patent.

with BOLUC code.
